Aston Martin DP114/2, 1954. A DB4 design study that was styled by Frank Feeley as a roomier version of the DB 2/4, The car featured a new chassis with double wishbone front suspension, a de Dion rear axle and a 2.9 litre 6 cylinder engine. It was sidelined in 1957 after the decision to base the DB Mk III replacement on the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera designed DB4. David Brown, owner of Aston Martin at the time, purchased the car from his company for the use of his wife as her personal transport. It was then used for a time in historic racing (3rd pic) before being bought back by Aston Martin in 1989 and restored to (better than) original condition
